Head of Product
Landfolk is looking for a Head of Product to bring strategic alignment and coherence across our entire product suite. You'll shape how we build products that help people find exceptional holiday homes and hosts share their special places.
About the role
We're not looking for someone who just manages roadmaps and runs stand-ups. We need someone who deeply understands both sides of our marketplace. The guest journey from discovery to memorable stays, and the host journey from listing to successful rental business.
You'll co-own the product vision with leadership, ensuring every feature and decision creates both exceptional customer experiences and a strong commercial product. This means balancing delight with revenue, user needs with business goals, and saying no to good ideas that don't fit.
We work in 6-week cycles inspired by Shape Up. You'll help shape these cycles, ensuring we're solving the right problems in the right order. You won't be managing a large team of PMs – you'll be hands-on, working directly with engineers, designers, and the rest of the organisation.
What you'll actually do
Your work will span our entire product portfolio:
Define and defend product strategy across web, admin tools, and our upcoming mobile apps
Balance the needs of guests booking holidays with hosts managing their properties
Shape projects that deliver real value, not just checked boxes
Work directly with engineering and design to turn ideas into shipped features
Monitor how features perform after launch and iterate based on what you learn
Make the hard calls about what we build, what we don't, and what we kill
Ensure every product decision makes sense for the whole, not just the parts
Turn customer insights and data into product decisions that move the needle
Keep everyone aligned on why we're building what we're building
About you
Maybe you started as an engineer who kept asking: "Why are we building this?" Maybe you were a designer who cared more about outcomes than pixels. Maybe you've been a product manager from day one. What matters is that you've shipped products that solved real problems for real people.
You've lived through the journey from scrappy startup to scaling organisation. You know what breaks when a team goes from 10 to 50 to 100 people. You understand when to add process and when to keep things simple. You can build the product org we'll need in two years while keeping the speed we have today.
You love building exceptional user experiences, but you're equally passionate about building commercially successful products. You know that delight without revenue is a hobby, and revenue without delight is unsustainable.
You understand marketplaces – the delicate balance between supply and demand, the chicken-and-egg problems, the need to serve multiple user types without pleasing none. If you've worked in travel, hospitality, or similar industries, that's great. If not, but you've wrestled with complex product challenges, that's fine too.
You can zoom out to the strategy and zoom in to the details. You're comfortable debating business models one hour and user flow details the next. You can hold your own with engineers without writing code, and with designers without opening Figma.
You're a people person who thrives on collaboration. You can get the best ideas out of a room, build consensus without endless meetings, and communicate complex product decisions in ways that make sense to everyone, from engineers to customer support. You know that great products come from great teams, not lone geniuses.
Most importantly, you have taste. You know the difference between a product that works and a product that's right. You can articulate why something feels off, even when the metrics look fine.
What makes this role different
This isn't a big company product role where you'll spend months on strategy decks that no one reads. You'll have real influence on what we build and how we build it. Your decisions will ship to production, not disappear into committees.
You won't inherit a massive product organisation to manage. You'll work directly with the people building the product. Less management, more product work.
You'll work on a product that matters to real people. Hosts who depend on us for income, and guests creating memories with family and friends. When you make the product better, you'll see it in their messages and reviews.
Working at Landfolk
We work hybrid from our beautiful office in Aarhus. You'll have flexibility to work from home some days, but we believe the best products come from teams that actually work together. We care more about the work you produce than the hours you keep.
What it's like to work here:
Low-distraction work environment: Focus on product work without constant meetings, "important" emails or one-off requests
Being part of a great team: Work alongside specialists in tech, business, design, community and communication who love collaborating
Flexible hybrid working: Split your time between our beautiful office and home, with flexible hours
Culture: Casual tone, lots of laughs, and room for diversity. We're an entrepreneurial company full of drive and great team spirit
Great coffee and food: Outstanding coffee, and we love to gather and celebrate – eating well while we do
Real ownership of product direction
Regular trips to beautiful holiday homes (market research, obviously)
The practical stuff
This is a full-time hybrid position based in or around Aarhus. You'll work from our office several days a week, with flexibility for remote work on other days. We're looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
We want to see evidence of your product thinking. Show us products you've shipped. Tell us about a product decision you made that was unpopular but right. Share your thoughts on what makes a great marketplace.
We'll review applications on a rolling basis. No AI screening, no automated rejections – real humans will read what you send.
When you apply, include:
Examples of products you've shaped or shipped
A product you admire (not your own) and why
Your take on the biggest product challenge facing vacation rental marketplaces
A few paragraphs on why Landfolk's product challenge interests you
References from people who've worked closely with you
We're not looking for the perfect CV. We're looking for someone who can make our product more coherent, more focused, and more valuable to the people who use it.
